Low income housing is housing for the Low Income Segment of society. It is different from low cost housing.

Low cost housing uses unconventional technologies to bring down cost of construction. Such technologies may not find acceptance by the end user.

Low income housing is the need of the Indian Society and I would be very happy to contribute to address the problem of acute shortage of Low Income Housing.

Low Income Housing is required in Metros and Industrial townships where enterprising migrants come to tap better earning opportunities. They do not have ancestral homes to stay, but look for housing which needs very little expenditure, to the extent of 5% of their monthly income.

There are various Low Income Housing models:

1. Self owned. These are for the migrants, who want to settle to the metros for better lifestyle of their families.
2. Rental. These are for investors, who will invest in this and get monthly returns by giving the property on rent as well as get appreciation of their property investment.

To address the acute shortage, government and Institutions in the housing sector can create and own the housing and get returns by way of rentals and socio economic benefits.
